melancholic rockers could buy a gold-plated tour bus. Instead, guitarist
Vudi has a day job driving a bus in L.A. It was there American Music Club recorded
their ninth LP, The Golden Age, a lush collection that ranks among their best.
Singer-songwriter Mark Eitzel reconfirms both his offbeat sense of
humor, on the semi-spoken ''The Windows on the World'' (about partying it
up at the World Trade Center bar), and his soulful vocals, on pretty
much everything else.
