2. EPISODE: ''The Glass Ballerina''

ORIGINAL AIR DATE: Oct. 11, 2006

PLOT SUMMARY: Sayid, Jin, and a pregnant, morning sickness-queasy Sun — the back-up team in Jack's foiled Walt-extraction plan — sail back to the beach camp in Desmond's boat. Sayid stops at an old Dharma ferry dock and conspires to set a trap for his enemies; he wants to kidnap two Others so he can torture one of them in order to make the other one spill info. But Sun smokes out Sayid's plan. Then, after Sayid asks Sun not to saying anything to her husband, Jin smokes her out and is pissed. This reminds Sun of her checkered history of betraying the men in her life — like her pre-Island affair with English-teacher Jae, which was discovered by her father and led to Jae's apparent suicide. The Others ambush Sayid's ambush and swipe Desmond's sailboat. Jin and Sun make up — but who's the daddy of Sun's baby?

MYTHOLOGY ALERT: The Others have a sub! Plus: Ben has a last name: Linus.

CRITIQUE: The Jin/Sun storyline gets a jolt of intrigue. Still, it goes down as yet another post-premiere let-down episode for Lost. Sayid's silly ambush is an insult to his intelligence.
