A shaved head isn't the only sacrifice Oscar winner Tommy Lee Jones made for his role in Cobb, an unapologetic portrait of the widely despised baseball legend. The actor broke his ankle while practicing Ty Cobb's infamous cleats-up slide. Despite the severity of the injury, Jones continued to work. A source says Jones told director Ron Shelton (Bull Durham) that pain is good for a performance. Shelton replied, ''Good. Once your ankle heals, I'll have the other one broken.''
