(FROM HOLLYWOOD REPORTER) – American Idol has partnered with Apple's iTunes store, giving the digital music retailer exclusive rights to the show's top 24 semifinalists' performances. Customers will be allowed to purchase semifinalist songs starting this week for 99 cents, and videos of their performances will be available for $1.99 starting March 11. Viewers will also be able to pre-order performances to be automatically downloaded through iTunes the day after the show airs. The move makes iTunes Idol's exclusive download provider and iPod the show's official digital music device. Apple joins Coke, Ford, and Cingular as official Idol partners. (Hollywood Reporter)
