The King and I

An amusing, opulent rerun, choreographed by Jerome Robbins and starring Donna Murphy, the 1996 Tonys' Lead Actress in a Musical, and the just-fine Lou Diamond Phillips (La Bamba). The beloved 1951 Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I still has a few kinks (the very abrupt ending being one). But that's beside the point — the point being the gloriously romantic score, including ''We Kiss in a Shadow'' and ''Something Wonderful.'' (TM) A-
