This musical about a family and its prize-winning hog originated as a 1933 Will Rogers movie, was remade in 1945, then again in 1962 starring Ann-Margret. Now it's come to this: a corny stage production so silly, even the pleasant Rodgers and Hammerstein songs sound cheap. Except for the talented Scott Wise (Guys and Dolls), the State Fair cast doesn't deserve mention, except as cautionary examples of overacting and plastic surgery. (TC) D
