Freyda Thomas' adaptation of the 17th-century Moliere play — set here among Southern televangelists as Tartuffe: Born Again— is one of those audacious theatrical conceits, like putting Shakespeare on skateboards or Chekhov on ice. While a certain pointlessness defeats the evening, there are rewards, like the game cast (particularly John Glover) and the raw nerve. (TC) B
