Of course, this was merely the appetizer. The main course was round 2 at tribal council, where Penner and Cirie went at it over her defecting to the other side. Honestly, outside of her hilarious statement that ''I don't have mind control over anybody here,'' I don't remember a lot of what they were actually saying. That's because I was too busy cracking up at all the facial expressions of the other tribe members while the two yelled at each other. The others each did everything in their power to avoid any and all eye contact with anyone lest they get dragged into the argument. They also looked like they all wanted the entire thing to end as quickly as possible, which I don't really get. Whenever two people are yelling at each other, and you are not one of those two people, it has to be good for you. Let them dig their own graves while you remain safely off the radar.
What I found most interesting about the vote was that the big question was whether the kissy-kissies and Cirie would split their votes or not, yet they all ended up going for Yau. It was the other foursome that ended up voting all over the map. Yau and Jonathan stuck with the plan and voted Parvati, but Eliza (ever the survivalist) put Yau's name down, while Amy threw her vote away by going for Cirie. My, how easily the bonds are broken.
Personally, I'm sad to see Yau go. He was always a blast to watch in challenges, refrained from acting like an idiot, and proved you don't have to look good in a bathing suit or act like a second grader to make good TV. I also hope Cirie — my episode 1 pick from the Favorites to win — didn't overplay her hand here. Was it really worth putting herself out there for so much scrutiny by not doing what either side wanted, when she could have easily remained in the background (without a target on her back) by letting Eliza or Parvati go. So much for being stealth.
