Way before Truth or Consequences, N.M. was a movie directed by and starring Kiefer Sutherland, it was a town that 47 years ago took its name from the well-known radio and television game show. Would a community pull such a stunt today? Not likely. But a perusal of an AAA road atlas reveals that some popular TV shows are all over the map. Consider:
· Frazier Park, Calif.
· Cosby, Mo.
· Friends Station, Tenn.
· Ellendale, Del.
Moreover, chances are that Jane Seymour, Candice Bergen, and Lea Thompson would be right at home in, respectively, Quinn, S.D., Murphy, N.C., and Caroline, N.Y. And who knew that everybody really does love Raymond — nearly 20 states in teh U.S. have towns bearing his name.
