''Fashion is just a job,'' Marc Jacobs shrugs in Loïc Prigent's documentary Marc Jacobs & Louis Vuitton, but this tour of the Louis Vuitton creative director/designer's jet-setting world suggests otherwise. From the seams up, we see how Jacobs parlays inspiration into commercial goods like when a meeting with polka-dot artist Yayoi Kusama forecasts the candy-colored dots in Vuitton's spring '07 line. But despite the parties and big-name pals, Jacobs' most cherished friends, we discover, are still his paper and pen.
