JB If they hadn't put those three things in before, I'd be really unhappy. [Laughs] I didn't really know much about Elton John until I started going on tour with him. But now that I know his music, I think of it as a huge compliment. Elton John, Lou Reed, Leonard Cohen, Cat Stevens, Paul Simon, and Neil Young are all from the golden era of the singer-songwriter.

JB, Corona Well, we just did a European tour [and] went all through Scandinavia. It was mid-winter, so it was pretty cold on the tour bus. So, basically, we had to take groupies on the tour bus just to keep us alive. I had to plead with them: Listen, if you don't sleep with me, it's almost murder.

LTT You already know this, but your shows have become legendary for attracting hot chicks.

JB God, I have a good PR machine.

LTT And now men are going to your shows to scoop up any of the scant few that don't make it on your bus.

JB Next time, let's lock all the doors shut and see what happens. Ten thousand people having an orgy at a James Blunt show: Worth the price of admission.

LTT Well, you do strip down in your ''You're Beautiful'' video.

JB Yeah, and I get hurled off a big cliff. It was so cold and they threw me off twice. That's why my voice is so high now. I also did a video for ''High'' where I was buried in the desert for a day and a half up to my neck in sand as they threw cockroaches at me. For ''Wise Men,'' I was set on fire. And for ''Goodbye My Lover,'' I could have done anything, and I paid $200,000 to watch Mischa Barton make out with someone else. It was torture.

LTT How did you pick Mischa Barton for your video?

JB We're friends. In fact, if I wasn't having an interview now I'd be having a drink with her, so you've really screwed me over. No...I'm far more happy to be here... [Talks to television camera] This is incredible. I'm pulling on camera! I'm getting her s---faced. Someone bring the car 'round. You can get sick at mine! I'll give you a key.
