(FROM HOLLYWOOD REPORTER) – Michael Cera is in final negotiations for the starring role in Universal's adventure romance Scott Pilgrim's Little Life. Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) is directing the movie, which is about a young slacker (Cera) who meets the woman of his dreams but has to defeat her seven evil ex-boyfriends in order to win her heart. The story is based on the Oni Press graphic novel Scott Pilgrim Volume 1: Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life, written by Bryan Lee O'Malley. Wright adapted the screenplay with writer-actor Michael Bacall. Production is scheduled to start some time this fall. Cera is currently shooting the Harold Ramis-directed Year One, which also stars Jack Black and is being produced by Judd Apatow. He will then start work on Dimension Films' adaptation of C.D. Payne's 1993 novel Youth in Revolt, which is being helmed by TV director Miguel Arteta. (Hollywood Reporter)
