Looking like an Italian version of Taxi's Latka, Sordi's Nino is a naive, straitlaced foreman at a Fiat factory in Milan who returns to his rustic Sicilian hometown with his urbane wife (the Bardot-esque Bengell) and kids. The delightfully comic clash of cultures gets upended when the unwitting Nino is tapped by village patriarch Don Vincenzo to kill a rival mobster. EXTRAS on this pristine black-and-white gem include a 1996 interview with director Alberto Lattuada, an early Fellini collaborator.
