Episode 49: ''The Agony and the 'Ex'-tasy''
Carrie couldn't help but wonder... ''Soul mates: reality or torture device?''
Plot An engagement-party invitation and a dating-service application cause the ladies to ponder the possibility or impossibility of soul mates; Charlotte tries to reconcile with Trey; Carrie ends up alone at a restaurant on her 35th birthday.
Best sound bite ''Maybe we can be each other's soul mates, and then we can let men be just these great, nice guys to have fun with.'' Charlotte
Critique Off to a slow start (shocker: Miranda's cynical about marriage), the episode culminates in an incredibly real moment when Carrie confesses how alone she feels on her milestone birthday. Then one simple suggestion by Charlotte (see sound bite) defines the series. B+
