Kings of Comedy, or Court Jesters?
No disrespect to the genius Amy Poehler, but I'd rather be the one in a picture with the witty Seth Meyers.

While I do enjoy Saturday Night Live, especially the news segments and political skits, it's not nearly as intelligent as The Daily Show (''Saturday Night's All Right''). After all, a lot of people get their news fix from Jon Stewart, not from network TV.

The Saturday Night Live cover story was great, but why wasn't Darrell Hammond featured in the ''Making Copies'' sidebar? According to the show, Al Gore's team studied Hammond's impression of the presidential candidate during the 2000 campaign.

Thanks for acknowledging the end of The Wire (News & Notes). Not since the demise of Arrested Development have I felt such a loss over a fictional world. But unlike Arrested, The Wire went out on its own terms, and the show's legacy is all the stronger for it.

The Wire was an insightful portrait of poverty and corruption, and I believe it'll ultimately be viewed as a true masterpiece. I hope casting directors will give the phenomenal cast the caliber of work they deserve.

Dead Heads
It's interesting that Stephen King wrote about movie blurbs (The Pop of King), since his blurb about The Evil Dead prompted my daughter and me to watch it for the first time. It's now our favorite horror film of all time. In fact, she loved it so much, she named her first son Ash! And I can't wait until he's old enough to sit down and watch it with us.

No Laughing Matter
What were you thinking, giving Funny Games — which made Hostel: Part II look ingenious — a B+ (Movies)? It had not a shred of intelligence, from its ridiculous plot to its bad music to its overly long scenes. Please tell me that your review is an April Fools' joke come early.
