Cruise's 'Valkyrie' Delayed Again

(FROM VARIETY) – United Artists and MGM have pushed back the release of Valkyrie from Oct. 3 to Feb. 13. The Bryan Singer-directed movie, which stars Tom Cruise, had already been pushed to October from an original June release date. The revamped UA (now headed by Cruise and Paula Wagner) had high hopes for the movie, which is based on a real-life plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler. Cruise plays a German officer. Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Tom Wilkinson, Eddie Izzard, Christian Berkel, Thomas Kretschmann, Terence Stamp, and Carice Van Houten also star. The new UA's first movie, Robert Redford's Lions for Lambs, was a box office disappointment last year, pulling in just $15 million domestically and $42 million overseas. (Variety)
