Terry Gilliam's infamously cursed fable The Adventures of Baron Munchausen about a story-spinning nobleman was shut down mid-shoot and bombed at the box office. Twenty years on in the DVD's Anniversary Edition, the visuals remain stunning, but the result works neither as fantasy nor as comedy. EXTRAS Four deleted scenes; storyboards of never-shot (and often expensive-looking) sequences accompanied by script readings from Gilliam and co-writer Charles McKeown; a convivial commentary featuring the same pair; an excellent doc in which the principals recall the troubled production.
