Ethan is the Coen brother who won three Oscars for No Country for Old Men in February and wryly offered two speeches that consisted of little more than ''Thank you'' each time. Now, with fitting modesty (hence Almost an Evening), he's brought three quick one-acts to the stage, and the first two in particular — the afterlife comedy Waiting and the spy tale Four Benches — are clever showcases for his droll minimalism. And just before each word starts to feel too precisely selected, F.
