Mancunian pop whiz Alan Roberts. Instead, 1960s-style, trippy-hippy
songs continue to rule his releases, the latest a vivacious whirl of
harmony and orchestration (''Happy Day Today'' could be the ''Good
Vibrations'' of 2008). Thanks to instantly addictive compositions, Noir's
aural power is no longer a secret: Companies such as Target have used
his tunes (notably ''My Patch'') to seduce customers in commercials. And
