Showtime has greenlit a third season of its drama series The Tudors. Shooting is scheduled to start in June for a season premiere in 2009 with Jonathan Rhys Meyers returning as King Henry VIII. The renewal was expected as the show draws strong ratings and earned two Golden Globe nods last year, for Best Drama Series and Best Actor in a Drama Series for Rhys Meyers.
