Soderbergh Directing 'Girlfriend Experience'

(FROM VARIETY) – Steven Soderbergh is directing The Girlfriend Experience, a movie that offers a look into the world of a $10,000-a-night / $1 million-a-year prostitute. 2929 Entertainment partners Mark Cuban and Todd Wagner will finance the project, the second film, after Bubble, in a six-picture deal they made for Soderbergh to direct low-budget films that would release simultaneously in theaters, on cable, and on DVD. Bubble largely used unknown actors, and Soderbergh is said to be considering an adult-movie actress to star in Girlfriend. Soderbergh will next shoot The Informant, with Matt Damon, before moving on to The Girlfriend Experience this fall. (Variety)
