Alec Baldwin's strenuously awful performance as a pathological liar, thief, and killer plays like Judd Nelson impersonating Robert De Niro — it's a portrait of the psycho as acting-class creep. Adapted from Charles Willeford's crime novel, Miami Blues, a garishly eccentric cat-and-mouse thriller, offers a few giddy comic highs along the way, but nothing in it makes much sense, from the initial death of a Hare Krishna by finger-breaking to the crushingly bloody, absurd finale.
