Last year this cult electro-metal act garnered above-ground buzz when bassist Lyn Z married Gerard Way, frontman for My Chemical Romance. Yet Mindless Self Indulgence hardly require gossip-column bait to hold your attention: On if, the group shape-shifts through a megamix that somehow makes sensible bedfellows of grinding goth-rock guitars (''Never Wanted to Dance''), booming Miami-bass beats (''Issues''), and ivory-tinkling Broadway melodies (''Mark David Chapman''). It's like an entire Ozzfest — with a wee cabaret interlude — condensed into 45 minutes. B+
