Seen on HBO last June and released in a few theaters last fall, this fascinating account of three teens convicted of killing three Arkansas boys deserves a wide audience. Filmmakers Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky (Brother's Keeper) set out to follow a seemingly straightforward trial in Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills, only to uncover a community unhinged by murder. Trial footage from 1994 is intercut with legal strategy meetings and wrenching interviews with parents and friends on both sides, creating a film that's as nuanced as any novel. The kicker is the chilling possibility the teens may not be guilty (though they lost an appeal last year). Turn off the phone and prepare for a riveting, if at times grisly, two and a half hours. A
