Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills

Seen on HBO last June and released in a few theaters last fall, this fascinating account of three teens convicted of killing three Arkansas boys deserves a wide audience. Filmmakers Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky (Brother's Keeper) set out to follow a seemingly straightforward trial in Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills, only to uncover a community unhinged by murder. Trial footage from 1994 is intercut with legal strategy meetings and wrenching interviews with parents and friends on both sides, creating a film that's as nuanced as any novel.
