Despite infamously severing his business ties with Tom Cruise in 2006, Viacom boss Sumner Redstone says he would not oppose the casting of the actor in a fourth Mission: Impossible movie for Paramount (a Viacom company). ''I consider Tom Cruise a great actor and a good friend,'' Redstone said Tuesday, responding to a reporter's question at a press conference in Seoul. ''And if Paramount decides to move ahead with him, I will not object.'' The decision, Redstone said, would ultimately be ''up to Brad Gray, who runs Paramount.'' In 2006, Redstone cut Paramount's ties with Cruise and producing partner Paula Wagner after Cruise's couch-jumping on Oprah and his inflammatory statements on the Today show about psychiatry.
