A note to Katie Holmes: Be afraid. You may have some serious competition coming up. Mercurial rocker-turned-actress Courtney Love says she may guest-star on Dawson's Creek next season. ''They asked me to do [a role],'' says Love. ''I'm going to see what they offer me. I'd like to play the hot drama teacher who comes to town.'' A Creek spot would mark the TV-acting debut for Love, who'll be seen opposite Jim Carrey in this fall's Andy Kaufman biopic, Man on the Moon. ''It'll depend on timing and whether the right role comes up,'' says Dawson's executive producer Paul Stupin. ''If it works out, it'll be fun.'' And which Creek kid would get the Love connection? Maybe Dawson himself. James Van Der Beek, says Love, is ''exactly my type.''
