ceremony in the Bahamas on April 30.... Jason Biggs (American Pie), 30,
has tied the knot with actress Jenny Mollen (Viva Laughlin), 28.
ENGAGED
The Nanny Diaries star Scarlett Johansson, 23, will wed Ryan Reynolds (Definitely, Maybe), 31. No date has been set for the ceremony.
ADDITIONS
Actress Angela Kinsey (The Office), 36, has a new co-worker: Isabel Ruby
was born on May 3 in L.A. Dad is Kinsey's TV-writer spouse, Warren
Lieberstein (Carpoolers).... Edie Falco, 44, adopted an infant girl
named Macy from Florida in February. The Sopranos alum already has a
3-year-old son.
COURTS
Following a May 6 custody hearing in L.A., Britney Spears, 26, will
reportedly be allowed more supervised visits per week with sons Preston,
2, and Jayden, 1. The news follows a Feb. 4 ruling in which full custody
of the children was granted to Kevin Federline, 30, after Spears was
hospitalized for psychiatric evaluation.... Fall Out Boy fan Andy
Kallas, 31, sued bassist Pete Wentz, 28, on April 30 in Chicago, seeking
reimbursement of his medical bills. Kallas claims that Wentz and his
entourage assaulted him after a Fall Out Boy concert, causing Kallas
''serious injuries.'' A rep for the musician says the suit is ''meritless.''
DISPUTE
On May 6 in L.A., negotiations between the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and
major Hollywood studios represented by the Alliance of Motion Picture
and Television Producers (AMPTP) broke down after 18 days due to
disagreements over issues including DVD residuals and usage of streaming
video. No date has been set to resume talks. Failure to reach an
agreement before June 30 could result in another Hollywood strike. At
press time, the AMPTP says it will begin negotiations on May 7 with the
American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, which represents a
smaller group of actors than SAG.
RECOVERING
Citing acute laryngitis, Avril Lavigne, 23, postponed six U.S. tour
dates on May 4, three days after canceling her San Diego and Phoenix
shows.
DEATHS
Tony award-winning costume designer Alvin Colt (Guys and Dolls), 91, of
natural causes, May 4, in NYC.... PBS host James Day (Day at Night), 89,
of respiratory failure, April 24, in NYC. with additional reporting by Jason Clark
COURTS
UMA'S ORDEAL
On May 6, an NYC jury convicted Jack Jordan, 37, of stalking Uma Thurman, 38. Jordan, who claimed he was in love with the actress, was accused of staking out Thurman's New York home, trying to enter her trailer on the set of My Super Ex-Girlfriend, and writing her a letter in which he threatened to kill himself if he sees Thurman who testified at the trial with another man. Jordan is undergoing a psychiatric exam and could face up to a year in jail when he's sentenced in June.
