Details Lead Performance: Ralph Moore; Genre: Jazz

If you admire the hard bop sound popularized 30 years ago by Art Blakey and Horace Silver, you won't want to miss Moore's latest Album, Futhermore. His tenor sax has achieved a personal authority that reminds me of the young Sonny Rollins. Moore plays the blues like a veteran; he makes the edgy classic ''Monk's Dream'' reverberate with his own clout. Trumpeter Roy Hargrove and pianist Benny Green, barely out of their teens, sound more relaxed here than on their own albums. The originals are merely serviceable, but the spirit is so authentic you don't care. A-
