(FROM THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER) Rob Corddry is now a leading man. The former Daily Show correspondent has signed to topline Project A; it'll be the first starring role in the comedian's career. Ben Stiller and his partner Stuart Cornfeld will produce the comedy about a man who is trained by the government to become the world's biggest jerk. Etan Cohen, a writer on Stiller's upcoming Tropic Thunder, is the screenwriter of the project, which has been in development for some time. Corddry told The Hollywood Reporter, ''Ben and Stuart gave it to me to read years ago, and it's always been the first thing I ask my agents and managers about.''
Currently, Corddry appears in small roles in both Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay and What Happens in Vegas. He's also preparing to play former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer in Oliver Stone's W, which films this summer. (The Hollywood Reporter)
