HILL IS PAVED WITH GOOD INTENTIONS Dylan McDermott in Hamburger Hill, the rare '80s Vietnam film to portray soldiers' bravery, but not quite a dramatic triumph

Kudos to Vietnam vet Jim Carabatsos for writing Hamburger Hill, the only '80s Nam film that truly showcases American heroism, but this dramatization of the charge up hellish Hill 937 lacks context and bitterly scapegoats peace activists and the media. EXTRAS In his commentary with three supporting actors, Carabatsos laments the Platoons of the era where ''all veterans were drug addicts and engaged in fratricide.'' Don Cheadle, who played a minor private, is promoted to headliner for this release, but he's MIA from an otherwise well-attended making-of. C
