(FROM HOLLYWOOD REPORTER) – Scottish director David MacKenzie (Hallam Foe) has been tapped to direct the psychological drama Stain In the Snow, an adaptation of Georges Simenon's 1948 novel, about a naïve boy living in an unnamed country (obviously based on Nazi-occupied France) who descends into psychosis and depravity. The book was previously adapted into the 1952 movie La Neige etait sale. Mackenzie will start working on Stain after he wraps his U.S. feature film debut, the comedy Spread, which stars Aston Kutcher and Anne Heche. (Hollywood Reporter)
