Five Could-Be Stars Of the New Web Entertainment Shows
A sure sign that a new medium has arrived is the advent of breakout celebrities. So who are the Edward R. Murrows and Lucille Balls of Web-based entertainment? Here are a few hopefuls to watch.

Maurice Compte: (26) The lead of DEN's Tales From the Eastside, he's a natural whose good looks and charisma are apparent even at three frames a second on a 28.8 modem.

Veronica De La Cruz: (23) Thanks to her energy and exotic beauty, the host of DEN's rave-party round-up Direct Drive has already garnered a loyal following.

Scot Rubin: (30) The host of Pseudo's Game Time has made himself an influential figure among joystick junkies and in the videogame industry he covers.

Terry Crummitt: (26) The semi-employed actor's comic monologues for The Sync are fast becoming a weekday afternoon ritual for many a bored Net slave.

Carla Cole: (24) The co-founder of The Sync also moderates the weekly panel discussion CyberLove, with refreshingly non-wiseass responses to even the weirdest questions.
