B
In the moving drama Grace Is Gone, John Cusack plays Stanley, a husband whose soldier wife was just killed in Iraq, and who can't bring himself to tell his two daughters. The ensuing narrative he whisks the girls away on a drive to Florida feels like a retread of uplifting cinematic road trips. (The usually staid Stanley drives through a field to prove he's...liberated?) The performances, though, are uniformly great, particularly the understated Cusack and the grave Shélan O'Keefe as the 12-year-old Heidi. EXTRAS A quickie making-of and a news clip on a real-life military widower who helped Cusack prepare. B
