The Scoop The Mouse House's latest movie musical is easiest to explain through a mash-up of two other close-to-home properties: ''Camp Rock is Cinderella meets High School Musical,'' says Disney Channels Worldwide president of entertainment Gary Marsh. ''If High School Musical was about following your dreams, this is about finding your voice.'' And on the off-chance that the assurance of HSM-esque qualities doesn't entice the youngsters, the promise of the hottest teen band around — the Jonas Brothers — in a plum starring role surely will. Miley Cyrus' heir apparent Demi Lovato (pictured) stars as diva-voiced teen Mitchie Torres, who heads to summer camp where bubblegum-pop jam sessions (with titles like ''Start the Party'' and ''What It Takes'') abound. Desperate to be liked, Mitchie spins stories about her fabulous — but totally made-up — life to anyone who will listen, including teenage rock star/kinda-boyfriend Shane Gray (Joe Jonas, pictured with Lovato). ''She's your typical girl next door, but she's vulnerable,'' explains Lovato. ''She gets tangled up in innocent lies and falls in love, then the secrets start to unfold.'' We're betting Mitchie will embrace her true self (and get the guy) just in time for the all-cast dance finale.

A Major Blowout That final dance number, with its sprawling choreography, took three days to shoot — and pushed Camp's stylists into overdrive. ''I got my hair blown dry six times in one day,'' Lovato remembers. ''You're dancing so much, and you just don't want to glisten like that on camera!'' —Tanner Stransky
