'DANCING'

[BOX]

'DANCING' The fall 'Dancing With the Stars' contestwon by Indy racer Helio Castroneves (above, with partner Julianne Hough)was the series' top-rated edition.

'NCIS' Mark Harmon's Navy procedural isn't exactly making CBS popular with the kids. While 'NCIS' is perched safely in the top 20, just 27 percent of its viewers are in the 18 -- 49 demo.

'HEROES' NBC's superhero series has the highest percentage of DVR viewers: 22 percent.

'SAMANTHA WHO?' Christina Applegate's ABC amnesia sitcom was the top-rated new scripted series.

'LAW & ORDER' A new time slot and a midseason debut during the strike (while other shows went to reruns) helped the NBC mainstay get a 19 percent bump.

'UGLY BETTY' ABC's Thursday nights took a big hit: 'Betty' lost 18 percent of its audience, while lead-out 'Grey's Anatomy' shed one-fifth of its viewers.

'GOSSIP GIRL' Though you may have heard that DVR viewers pump up The CW soap's ratings, the net's 'One Tree Hill' and 'Beauty and the Geek' nabbed even more recorders.
