(FROM HOLLYWOOD REPORTER) – Elizabeth Berkley (Showgirls, Saved by the Bell) has joined the cast of S. Darko, the Chris Fisher-directed sequel to 2001's cult hit Donnie Darko. The story is set seven years after the original as Donnie Darko's sister, Samantha (played by again by Daveigh Chase), flees town with her best friend (Briana Evigan, Step Up to the Streets, Fear Itself) when they are plagued by bizarre visions. Berkley plays a speed freak-turned-Jesus freak obsessed with cleansing the world of sin and infatuated with her dreamy pastor. Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl) and Justin Chatwin (The Chumscrubber) also have roles. Shooting is underway. Berkley just finished a stint on CSI: Miami and wrapped filming on The Butlers in Love, which is directed by David Arquette. (Hollywood Reporter)
