(FROM VARIETY) – Former Sopranos producer and director Terence Winter is writing the HBO project Boardwalk Empire, which is being executive produced by Martin Scorsese and produced by Entourage duo Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson. The drama series, which hasn't yet been ordered to pilot, is based on Nelson Johnson's book Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times and Corruption of Atlantic City, about Atlantic City's growth from sleepy seaside town to entertainment and gambling mecca. Winter is also working on Scorsese's adaptation of The Wolf of Wall Street and his rock 'n' roll epic The Long Play. (Variety)
