Curtain (1991)

EW's GRADE
B+

Details Writer: Michael Korda; Genres: Fiction, Movies

Too busy to read? No problem. Just drop this newly released audiocassette into the player and let someone else do the reading for you. You don't even have to take your hands off the steering wheel to turn the pages.

They probably won't cast him as Scarlett in the remake of Gone With the Wind, but Simon Jones' surprisingly sensitive portrayal of a fictionalized Vivien Leigh is the highlight of his performance of Michael Korda's novel, Curtain. He doesn't have the voice listeners might expect for the story's Olivier stand-in, but the energy level — his and the narrative's — makes for shamelessly entertaining listening. B+
