Eva Mendes in Talks for 'Bad Lieutenant'

(FROM VARIETY) — Actress Eva Mendes is in negotiations to star opposite Nicolas Cage in Werner Herzog's remake of the 1992 film Bad Lieutenant. Cage has already signed on to topline the reimagining of director Abel Ferrara's cult hit, in which Harvey Keitel played a corrupt police officer. Shooting is set to begin late this summer, with German auteur Herzog (Rescue Dawn) behind the camera. Mendes and Cage previously worked together in the 2007 blockbuster Ghost Rider. (Variety)
