(FROM AP) - Amy Winehouse's father is quoted in a London newspaper saying that the troubled singer has been diagnosed with emphysema. Mitch Winehouse is quoted in the Daily Mirror saying that his daughter has early stage emphysema from smoking crack cocaine, as well as an irregular heartbeat, and that she has been told that she will have to wear an oxygen mask unless she stops smoking drugs. ''The doctors have told her if she goes back to smoking drugs, it won't just ruin her voice, it will kill her,'' Winehouse is quoted as saying. ''There are nodules around the chest and dark marks. She has 70 percent lung capacity.'' Winehouse, 24, collapsed at her home Monday (June 16) and was taken to a London hospital where she remained all week. She is still scheduled to sing on Friday (June 27) at a celebration for the 90th birthday of Nelson Mandela, the South African Nobel Prize-winner. She also plans to take part in the Glastonbury music festival the following day. The Associated Press says Winehouse's publicist responded to queries about the article by saying, ''If that's what Mitch says, that's what he says. It sounds right.'' (AP via Yahoo!)
