(FROM THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER) – Former Dukes of Hazzard star John Schneider is starring in the new, independently-financed six-episode drama series twentysixmiles, which is currently searching for a distributor. Schneider plays a high-powered Los Angeles executive who moves to Southern California's Catalina Island ''twenty-six miles across the sea,'' as the Four Preps song goes to live near his kids after his divorce. The show is from creator/executive producer Rob Miller, who is spending $5.5 million on production in hopes of luring studio and network partners. Shooting is currently underway on Catalina. Schneider is also shooting a recurring role on FX's Nip/Tuck. The actor says he turned down a regular role in a major upcoming fall series to do twentysixmiles. ''This is the most perfect role I've read for me since Dukes of Hazzard,'' Schneider said. ''I'm hoping it's one of those occasions when the good guys win.'' (Hollywood Reporter)
