(FROM VARIETY) — Rose McGowan is set to star in a remake of Red Sonja, 1985's comic-based action flick that featured Brigitte Nielsen as a vengeful woman warrior. Robert Rodriguez, who directed McGowan in last year's Grindhouse, will be a producer, while Douglas Aarniokoski (Highlander: Endgame) will direct. Production is slated to begin in October. (Variety)
