(FROM VARIETY) – MGM is developing a musical adaptation of the 1983 movie Valley Girl, which starred Nicolas Cage as a Hollywood punk rocker who wins the heart of the suburban title character, played by Deborah Foreman, and featured music by new Men at Work, Modern English, and the Psychedelic Furs. The reimagined MGM musical, produced by Sean Bailey (Gone Baby Gone), will use the same storyline and also feature classic '80s songs. Bailey is also working on a Tron sequel, Sabbatical, and Hexum and Liberty for Disney. (Variety)
