Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D.

EW's GRADE
C-

Stag-film-level acting, crapola special effects, stale schoolyard jokes, and chesty extras — yup, this could only be a cheapie from Troma, bastion of unrepentant schlock. Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D. centers on a hapless undercover cop (the unintentionally comic Rick Gianasi) possessed by the spirit of a mystical Japanese crime fighter. Naturally, there's some nonsense about an evil corporation, but it's all an excuse to show off a wacky arsenal of ''supermortal'' powers that allow him to off bad guys with off-key operatic warbling, lethal rolls of sushi, and deadly flying chopsticks.
