From the moment Quentin Tarantino announced that his next project would be a remake of this obscure spaghetti WWII flick, The Inglorious Bastards has been hailed as a lost B-movie classic. If only. What it is, in fact, is a reasonably entertaining rip-off of The Dirty Dozen, with gentle giant Svenson (TV's Walking Tall) and all-around cool customer Williamson (Black Caesar) leading a group of GI prisoners making a run for the Swiss border. Along the way they mow down Nazis, spy on skinny-dipping fräuleins, and swap macho one-liners. The action may be first-rate, but the dialogue is tough sledding. The set's highlights include a rousing soundtrack CD, a couple of nostalgic docs, and a conversation between Tarantino and director Enzo G. Castellari, who's barely able to get a word in edgewise. B
