B.J. Novak in Talks for Tarantino's 'Inglorious Bastards'

Plus: A rep for Britney Spears shoots down a tabloid report that had her starring in the director's remake of ''Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!''

(FROM THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER) — The Office's B.J. Novak is in talks for a role in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming WWII movie Inglorious Bastards. Novak would play PFC Utivich, one of the soldiers in the director's long-gestating film about a band of Jewish resisters in Vichy-era France. Brad Pitt is in talks to play the leader of the band of soldiers. Shooting is scheduled to start this fall and wrap in time for Cannes in May 2009. (Hollywood Reporter)

Separately, reports in a British tabloid that had Britney Spears lined up for a role as a lesbian killer in Tarantino's upcoming remake of Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill! are apparently false. A rep for Spears told Access Hollywood, ''Though she definitely intends to explore acting roles down the road, right now she’s concentrating on recording her next album.'' And a source close to Tarantino is quoted as saying, ''There is no truth to this.'' (Access Hollywood)
