Joshua Allen, the 19-year-old hip-hopper from Fort Worth, Texas, won the title of ''America's Favorite Dancer'' for season 4 of So You Think You Can Dance.

The season finale kicked off with the season's top 20 dancers reunited on stage for a hip-hop routine that ended with the final four contestants — Allen, Stephen ''Twitch'' Boss, Courtney Galiano, and Katee Shean — standing above the rest. Courtney, pegged as the underdog early on, was the first to be dismissed. Katee was next, finishing in third place overall, but receiving a $50,000 prize as the top female finisher. That left Joshua and Twitch, the two hip-hop performers who joked during Wednesday night's show about their rivalry, as the finalists for the title, $250,000, and a role in Step Up 3D.

Highlights of the two-hour finale included an appearance by the Jonas Brothers, who performed ''Burning Up'' to a sea of squeals, and a ''Best Of'' dance that incorporated contestants from seasons past. Judge-producer Nigel Lythgoe also got into the act, performing a routine with the children from the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, while judge Mary Murphy partnered up with season 2's Dmitry Chaplin for a sultry ballroom routine. Finally, guest judges and choreographers Adam Shankman, Lil C, Debbie Allen, and Mia Michaels picked their favorite dances of the season, including Katee and Joshua's hip-hop routine to ''No Air,'' and Twitch and Kherington's waltz.
