Bolt (2008)

Details Release Date: Nov 21, 2008; Rated: PG; Length: 96 Minutes; Genres: Animation, Comedy, Kids and Family; With: Miley Cyrus and John Travolta

Teaser posters feature a lightning bolt resembling a certain boy wizard's scar, but codirector Williams quips, "Harry who?" In this CG-animated feature, which plays like a four-legged
update of The Truman Show, the eponymous
canine (voiced by Travolta) discovers that he's just a TV star, not an actual daredevil superpooch. The original director, Chris Sanders (Lilo & Stitch), envisioned an edgy, underground-comics feel, but he exited the project after Pixar's John Lasseter and Ed
Catmull took over Disney's 'toon operation. The new directors went for a lighter style. They felt lucky to nab Cyrus for Penny, the dog's owner, since the heavily booked teen star has a work schedule that Howard says would "crush almost any other human being."
