Give Sarah Connor another go. Granted, Fox's Terminator series is uneven: Early episodes were shaky, and an energizing turn by Brian Austin Green as John Connor's uncle didn't come until midway through the season (though after Freddie, we should stop being surprised that he's often the best thing on screen). It's time to let Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles make it up to you. Supplementing the nine episodes — which follow Headey as the alpha mom who's fighting to protect her son and humanity's savior, John Connor (Dekker) — are three making-ofs that add rich details, like how the rock 'em, sock 'em robots are engineered. Also cool: an animatic of a scene that plays like a Terminator comic book. The rest of the extras (auditions, wisely deleted scenes, bloopers) feel as hastily chosen as convenience-store birthday gifts. But as always with Sarah, it's best to overlook the flaws. B
