Bedtime Stories (2008)

In Disney's effects-heavy Christmas Day release, Sandler plays a handyman who tells bedtime stories to his niece and nephew that come magically to life — replete with fantastical sequences set in ancient Greece, outer space, and medieval times. Picture Sandler ''driving an out-of-control four-horse chariot, in a toga, with a little Ben-Hur haircut,'' marvels Shankman (Cheaper by the Dozen 2). ''It's a big, family-comedy what-if movie.''
Our Two Cents Shankman's hot off Hairspray, and Sandler showed in Big Daddy that he was good with kids. 12/25
